Project Dance DNA - Dance Camp

Type:Single day
Ages:4 - 16
Multiple dates: 22nd - 30th December 2025
Location:Radcliffe Primary School Coronation Road Radcliffe M26 3RD Manchester
This is a dance specific programme that will train the participants in different styles of dance. Each day the dancers will learn different routines in preparation a mini comp and showcase on the last day.

Our aims are to improve the mental and physical health of children and young people, through dance as physical activity in disadvantaged communities and to also give them the confidence, skills and opportunity to compete in dance too. Benefits of Dance - Dance builds physical fitness and improves coordination, strength, and flexibility. Teamwork skills, problem solving, and discipline are developed through the practice needed to master dance routines. Cooperation, trust, and sensitivity are developed through creative dance, lifts, and partner work. Performing is the vital key element to the process and builds confidence, self-worth and a sense of achievement and aspiration. We aim to motivate young people to live a healthier lifestyle whilst also instil the confidence to allow them to perform and express themselves in a safe environment.

Through this programme we aim to take complete novice dancers and teach them the skills to be at a level to perform confidently at a dance competition. The experience of working towards the competition is an essential part of the dance experience for most participants, just as a football match is to football training. This will be a fantastic opportunity for the young people involved.
