Learn to prepare a healthy meal and pudding with our fantastic CookSmart cooking tutorials!
CookSmart is accessible cooking tutorials for children with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) and their parent/carer which involves practical instruction to prepare a meal, which they make together. A main course meal and pudding is learnt which can be taken home afterwards.
CookSmart takes place in a large training kitchen and all ingredients are provided on the day. CookSmart sessions are run by our Merton Mencap team who make learning fun. Recipes are provided too, so participants can cook the meal again at home! CookSmart promotes healthy eating and life-skills development, while providing an enjoyable cooking session and the chance to meet others.
CookSmart is available to children with SEND who either live or educated in the London borough of Merton.
